It'll be fun.

[Kevin's been exploring as much of the fair as he can get to. He definitely needs spending money and he doesn't want to have to keep asking Jesse for more. The obvious solution is to hang out in the carnival area a bit and play with fire and paper. Everyone should just assume he's doing some kind of a trick, not magic, right? Besides, it's fun showing off what he can do. If he can make enough money, he'll buy one of those naked paintings over in that art building. If he makes more than that... Maybe he'll stay at a hotel instead of going back to the Barge overnight.]

[ She even smiles for him. Shee how good she's being? ]

[It's a vendor with some kind of Middle Eastern dough rings.] Do you want to try them? [He's never had anything beyond normal American food. They look something like tiny donuts. Maybe they'll taste similar.]

They smell good. Why not?

[He buys a pair and hands one to her. They're warm, just slightly crisp on the outside, and not too greasy. They taste more like fresh bread than anything else.]

[ Everything tastes pretty bland when you've been through what Steph has, but she smiles and hums approval anyway. It's a date, a few white lies are expected. ]

These are pretty good. Thanks for buying.

Yeah? [His smile is nervous, relieved, and almost shy. He's not expecting any whit lies. He can forgive them but they're not something he sees a point in.] I'm glad.

[ He's so cute, she can't help but smile. There isn't a dishonest bone in his body. ]

We can get lunch if you're hungry. I don't mind.

[He shakes his head.] I'm fine with this. You want to see what else is here?

[ She shrugs. She doesn't want her bad mood of late to rub off on anyone, especially not people who have been nice to her. ]
