You did it to protect everyone else. That might not be why you're an inmate. [He knows he wasn't an inmate just because Yvette had made him kill people for her.]

[Yeah it's a little more involved than that but he's got no reason to get into it. He did what needed to be done. Made the calls that had to be made to make sure everyone on Earth lived. The details of what exactly "had to be done", what those calls entailed? Not important.]
